There are a number of things to admire about the St Petersbourg hotel. This is the oldest operational hotel in Tallinn and was opened in 1850. This is the newest 5 star property in Tallinn and has 2 great restaurants, the Kuldse Kõrts Kõrts which serves authentic Estonian cuisine and the Hermitage which serves great Russian cuisine. The hotel’s location is fantastic as it is situated close to both the Town Hall and Toompea Castle. Enjoy yourself at the free private sauna, relax in uniquely designed rooms and be pampered with the fantastic customer service of the hotel staff. Be prepared for a lot of noise outside as the area is usually packed with tourists. You cannot go wrong staying at the St. Petersbourg Hotel as it is a unique experience you will never forget. On the downside, only queen size beds are available. Dmitrii Siling

The Telegraaf Hotel has received plenty of great ratings and reviews, which I fully agree with. It's based in a unique building with a very rich and interesting history, this was, in fact, once the base of Estonia's very first telegraph office. Overall, this is an excellent hotel, there are 86 modern rooms, designed in Modern Art style with Art Deco touches. The hotel has a beautiful summer terrace, apart from being spacious, it also has grass on the floor, where many other hotels only have paved courtyards. You will also have access to the wonderful Elemis Spa, which has a whole range of options to choose from. The "Tchaikovsky" restaurant serves delicious Russian and French dishes it has often received awards as one of Estonia's best restaurants. Artem Anoshkin

The Radisson manages two hotels in Tallinn, but I like this one best of all. I loved the spacious suites with their fantastic view over Old Town and had no complaints about anything at this hotel. Unless you're seeking a boutique hotel experience, this hotel is the whole package and makes a terrific first-class option. Most of the rooms include a Nespresso coffee machine and span 30 square meters. You can save 20% off your room rate when booking at least 21 days in advance. Dmitrii Siling

For luxury boutique accommodation in a 14th century building, the Three Sisters does not disappoint. Each individually decorated room has a unique design that combines both the hotel's history and a contemporary style. Even the works of art are carefully chosen to create a particular atmosphere. Wood and natural materials feature prominently in each room. In fact, the rooms themselves have some nice peculiarities. In one, you might find a rounded wall; in another, a niche; in a third, a tiny balcony, or a second floor. You just never know, so each time you visit, you can have a new experience. It also adds to the historical feel of the building. On the other hand, because each room is unique, they aren't all necessarily convenient for everyone, families with small children or elderly guests may not like the split-level rooms that include stairs. My favorite part of the hotel is the tiny courtyard, where some rooms can be entered through the yard instead of the lobby. The hotel also has a small restaurant called Bordoo, which serves Estonian cuisine with plenty of local produce. Artem Anoshkin

The Swissotel is a high-quality hotel found in the middle of Tallinn business district. The location is important not only for the convenience of reaching all the best attractions but also for the magnificent panoramic views afforded by the hotel rooms overlooking different parts of Tallinn and the Gulf of Finland. The hotel itself is not in an overcrowded spot, there are fewer tourists out here and you’ll be able to have a nice stroll in the modern part of Tallinn, but most guests will prefer to make the 10-minute walk to Old Town. If you're travelling with young children and need extra supplies, clothing, or toiletries, there are plenty of retail stores nearby selling high-quality brands to meet those needs. The spa area for hotel guests, Purovel Spa and Sport, is both comfortable and functional. There is a small fitness center on site, as well as a sauna and a small indoor pool. The Horisont Restaurant offers excellent food but as a result of its popularity with business travelers and the locals, it can be difficult to get a reservation. The Swiss café offers a smaller choice of dishes but is also very good. If all you need is a quiet place to drink some coffee and talk with business partners or colleagues, the lobby bar is an excellent venue. Dmitrii Siling

The Merchant's House impressed me with its style and charm. It's so steeped in history, that it's almost like taking a step back in time to the medieval ages. Each room features plenty of wood and other natural elements, giving it a very rustic feel. You will receive excellent service from the staff. The sauna is free, and the restaurant offers delicious meals. The only down side you can find is the noise factor, which is part and parcel of living in the center of Old Town, which is itself extremely popular among tourists. Dmitrii Siling

The Von Stackelberg hotel can be found at the foot of Toompea hill, just a short distance away from Toompea Castle and Nevsky Cathedral. Despite its central location, there aren't too many tourists around compared with the Old Town. The historical building dates back to 1875. The Von Stackelberg has its own spa facilities, including a Japanese pool, which is perfect for a relaxing day indoors. The restaurant serves great Estonian cuisine. I'm also very pleased that the hotel was awarded a Green Key certificate in recognition of its concern for the environment. The courtyard is another special feature that I adore. For a little outdoor exercise, there's a park nearby, where you can take long walks or jog. Falgi park is the perfect place for young children, where they can find umpteen things to play with. The Schlössle

by Hotelstars Superb score on Booking.com

The Schlössle in the heart of Tallinn is a unique hotel given that it's housed in 13th and 14th century buildings. I liked the spacious rooms, where each had a unique design, high-quality wood elements and fabrics could be seen everywhere. If you are planning to visit Estonia, then we think that the Schlössle will be a great choice considering the fact that it has recently been refurbished. This five star property now has all brand new facilities and is in top condition. Guests who stay at the Schlössle hotel must take advantage of the free sauna as it is an important part of Estonian culture. The locals love to visit the sauna all through the year but the sauna experience is most enjoyable during winter. If you are visiting during summer, a good way to escape the tourists flocking to the Old Town is to relax in the hotel’s courtyard and have a quiet drink. Dmitrii Siling

CRU Hotel

by Hotels.com Fabulous score on Booking.com

I am impressed with the CRU, which is a luxury boutique hotel. The XIV century building can be found on the main street of Tallinn's Old Town. Every room contains wooden features and antiques, staying here is an experience in itself, adding to the charm of Tallinn. It's quite noisy in this neighborhood as a result of being on the main street, where tourists are constantly walking about. There is not much car traffic though, only locals can drive on the street, and there are not too many of them in this part of town. The restaurant serves amazing Estonian cuisine, and the chef holds European and international awards. Dmitrii Siling

The Savoy Boutique

by Hotels.com Superb score on Booking.com

Savoy Boutique is managed by a local hotel group, although the group manages a whole range of hotels from budget to luxury, the Savoy is their top brand. I was very impressed with the Savoy as a first-class hotel, the friendly staff provide high standards of service. It's different from other boutique hotels because of its unique art-deco style in each of the rooms, there's also plenty of natural light throughout the hotel, which I enjoyed very much. The rooms are generally small in size but the suites are a lot bigger and come with king size beds. The Mekk restaurant is very popular with the locals and is listed as one of the top restaurants in Estonia. Dmitrii Siling

The Kalev Spa Hotel

by Hotels.com Very good score on Booking.com

This is an amazing hotel, as much for the facilities as for the prices. The waterpark is a terrific place to spend the day with friends and family, there's also a huge swimming pool where you can lounge or swim at leisure. Kalev Spa is the perfect spot for a family holiday, the hotel offers 100 comfortable rooms with a view of either Old Town or Kanuti Park. Ladies will love the local wellness and spa center, which has an endless menu of options for massages and beauty treatments. Dmitrii Siling

The Nordic Hotel Forum

by Hotelstars Fabulous score on Booking.com

The Nordic Hotel Forum is a popular choice among business travelers and companies hosting conferences in Tallinn, it holds its own against the likes of the world-class Radisson hotels and Swissotel, which also have a presence in Tallinn. I liked this hotel's spacious rooms and excellent service. Guests have free access to the sauna, there is also a terrific gym and pool with an amazing view of the city. Hotel management claims the Nordic Hotel Forum is slightly better than your average 4-star establishment. Tallinn's Old Town is within walking distance. The Nordic Hotel Forum is typically advertised as a business hotel; however, this is also a great choice for families with children. Dmitrii Siling

The Baltic Boutique Apartments

by Hotels.com Fabulous score on Booking.com

The Baltic Boutique Apartments are a very stylish set of unique apartments housed in a historic building from the 1930s. Each has its own living room and a kitchen, which is ideal for long stays, when you don't want to have to eat out every day. It is rather close to Tallinn's Old Town but the neighborhood is not very glamorous, so there isn't much to see. I like this option of serviced apartments because it's easily cheaper than a hotel if you have a large group of friends staying together. Although you could easily find apartments available on rent in Tallinn city center, they often tend to be rather small or expensive, especially if they're in the heart of Old Town, some may even be quite run down. So Baltic Boutique Apartments offer a brilliant alternative. Artem Anoshkin

The Baltic Hotel Imperial

Baltic Hotel Imperial has the perfect location on the edge of Old Town in Tallinn. There is a small park nearby, which is an excellent venue for a daily jog. The view from many of the rooms is absolutely gorgeous, and the rooms themselves are very stylish and have high-quality furniture. The hotel creates a wonderful impression of Tallinn's medieval roots. Dmitrii Siling
